My name is Fiona Chick, a 36-year old London-lady dwelling in Tunbridge Wells with my two young children.
Free Range Chick was born at the beginning of 2014, following my decision not to return to my full-time job as a cardiac nurse specialist at the end of my second maternity leave. Hey, flexible working in the NHS wasn’t all it was cracked up to be!
Since surrendering my registered nurse status, I have been diligently (sometimes) writing for Free Range Chick.
When I’m not hunched over my laptop, you can find me having a cuppa with friends or seeking networking opportunities. Oh, and I’m frequently accompanied by my entourage, my sons Finley and Fraser.
I adore writing and take care to construct my posts as beautifully and artistically as I am able. All posts are written by me and are inspired by a wide range of topics, from the serious to the funny to the downright bizarre.
I took a break from blogging towards the end of 2016 as I separated from my husband of 6 years. I have since returned to blogging and will be covering a range undecided topics – whatever takes my fancy.
I live by the motto: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.”
I adore jewellery, make-up, guitars, rock music, port, coffee, cars, crafts, trains, sushi, science, alliteration, photography and Dr Martens.
I loathe prejudice, litter, racism, ignorance, xenophobia, spelling-errors, intolerance and gender-stereotyping of children.
I’m delighted that you’ve got this far and hope that you enjoy reading my posts. I’ve disabled comments on the blog, but you’re welcome to connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I always love to hear from you, so don’t be shy to get in touch about absolutely anything.
I look forward to hearing from you.
