Unfortunately, this is going to be short and sweet (see Time for more details on why).

You may be aware that we are moving house at present, and with little children, this is a rather long, disjointed, disorganised and stressful process.

Mr Chick has spent the last few months working non-stop at work and then all weekend sorting out several rooms at his parent’s house (yes, we’re moving in with my in-laws), to ensure they are suitably clean and safe for the kids to live in.

It feels like we haven’t had any family time for an eternity and I cannot wait for the day when my dear husband will be at home with us on the weekend to spend some quality time.  This day is near.  Next weekend will be the final weekend in our current home.

We have spent this weekend packing a significant amount of our life into any vessel that is within reach.  Items and artefacts that have lingered in drawers are being scrutinised for their worthiness.  Those that don’t make the cut are being rehomed at the British Heart Foundation

It is a time for change, and despite that fact that we’re not going to have our very own space in our new home, we are incredibly excited for the new changes and opportunities that are coming our way.

So there you go.  Relocation; a bit of a pain in the backside when having to do it with kids.  But I do believe that good things do not necessarily come easily in life, and the I know that this relocation will be a great thing for The Chicks.

Thanks to Jocelyn at for having me on week for Word of the Week.

  1. We’ve recently relocated too – I know the stress with young kids! We’re also living with my parents for the time being between houses, it’s good to have that option I’m finding 🙂

  2. Fiona, when you mentioned you were moving, I didn’t realise it was going to be with your husband’s parents! Good luck with the move. I have never done that with children and I can imagine it must take a lot of organisation (and recycling!). x Mel #WotW
