Shrove Tuesday

So I am almost bound by law to publish this post, largely because I roped Mr C into giving up (about 20 minutes of) his evening to help me with it. And now that I look back at the photos (and laugh hysterically at all the ones I am not going to publish), I realise that I should probably just scrap it. But the Pouilly-Fume has clearly got the better of me, so here it is – our Shrove Tuesday evening…

Mr C is rather fond of the American-style buttermilk pancake with streaky bacon and maple syrup. So I put in a request for him to make them for a Shrove Tuesday treat this evening, and he happily obliged. He used this recipe, although I’m sure he can actually create them off the top of his head.

So there you have it – our pancake day at The Chick’s (notice the distinct lack of children – yes, we reserved the fun for the adults after they went to bed)…  Ok, I’m not that cruel – the kids got to sample pancakes from the rest of the pancake mix this morning.

I hope you enjoyed this, and I hope you enjoyed your pancake day yesterday.  I would love to hear what recipes and flavour combos you used.

Till next time.
